Skill Centre A Dominates on the Road at Rushmere ‘B’
Skill Centre A delivered a spectacular away performance on September 28, taking down Rushmere ‘B’ with a commanding 6½ to 2½ victory.
The absolute stars of the evening were Lynda Miller and Andrew Farn, who put on a flawless clinic for our side. The second-string pairing was untouchable, sweeping all three of their matches in straight games to claim a maximum 3 points. They showed fantastic nerve under pressure during the second round, grinding out a nail-biting 23-21 opening game win against the home third string before cruising 21-11 in the second.
Liz Bright and Bobby McLaren also brought incredible firepower to the court, adding 2 crucial points to our tally. They opened their night with a thrilling 22-20, 21-11 triumph over Rushmere’s top pair, setting a dominant tone for the team. Their only stumble came in the final round against the home second string, but by then, the momentum was heavily in our favor.
Rachel Farn and Jason Lewis proved to be the ultimate resilient fighters, securing 1.5 points by forcing splits in all three of their matchups. No matter the opponent, Farn and Lewis dug deep, perfectly complimenting our squad’s depth and ensuring Rushmere ‘B’ couldn’t build any momentum. An incredible overall team effort to secure a massive win on the road!
