Skillcentre C Put on a Clinic in Dominant Away Win Over Woodbridge C!
Skillcentre C marched into Woodbridge on October 15 and put together an incredibly dominant performance, cruising to a massive 6½ to 2½ away victory in Division 7.
Our second and third string pairings were the absolute engines of the team tonight, each pulling in a staggering 2.5 points. John Calver and Myles Miller were phenomenal, sweeping both the home second and third pairs in straight games. They capped off their night by showing ice-cold nerves to snatch a 22-20 second game against the Woodbridge top string to secure a vital split.
Martin Benstead and Graham Chappel matched that brilliance stride for stride. They were absolutely ruthless against the home side’s bottom order, dismantling the second string 21-9, 21-10 and crushing the third string 21-16, 21-5. They also went toe-to-toe with the Woodbridge first string, bouncing back from a narrow opening game loss to comfortably take the second 21-15.
Alan Notton and Rob Wickens showed fantastic grit to round out our scoring. After dropping their opening match to a tough Woodbridge top pair, they rallied brilliantly to sweep the home second string (22-20, 21-13) and grind out a hard-earned split against the third string. It was a completely comprehensive team victory from top to bottom!
